Fashion Show to Support Sickle Cell Society Ireland
Lana Kurasidze, our Chairperson, participated in the outdoor Sickle Cell Fashion Show on 19 June 2021. The event was part of the Sickle Cell Society Ireland education and awareness programme of events.
Before becoming disabled in 2006, Lana was at the start of a promising modelling career. Since then, she has continued to pursue her modelling career part-time for fundraising and charitable purposes. In her modelling work, she does not hide her disability but highlights it to demonstrate that disability is a normal part of life and should not be a barrier.
The Sickle Cell Fashion Show was organised by Esther Owuta-Pepple Onolememen, MUA Tatiana Orlovscaia. The behind-the-scene photo was taken by the brilliant John Hickey and the outfit worn by Lana was by the amazing Claire Garvey. In the video, Lana is accompanied by fellow models Becky Archbold and Raky Puntec.
BADIG was proud to support this important campaign. This was also the first time when Lana could model using her new LifeGlider.
