New equipment at Ballymun Sports & Fitness Centre!

We have always been big fans of Ballymun Sports & Fitness Centre, in Main Street, Ballymun.  This fantastic Dublin City Council facility is a great resource at the heart of Ballymun.  The swimming pool, training facilities and equipment on offer are class-leading and open to everyone irrespective of ability.  More importantly for us, Emma Byrne (the Centre Manager) and her team are always very welcoming and supportive of use of the Centre by people with disability, especially new users who may be a bit shy or unsure.

During the pandemic lockdown, management took the opportunity to introduce new improved equipment in the gym area.  The equipment offers a lot of improvements to users, including some of particular interest to people with disability.

Late last year, our Chairperson, Lana Kurasidze, was invited along for a preview of the new equipment and to offer her opinions.  The review was held in a socially-distanced and managed way during lockdown.  Lana was genuinely impressed!  Her views, with those of others who checked out the new facilities, are included in this video.  It is definitely worth a watch!

We are very happy to report that the Centre is once again open to the public.  If you haven’t been there yet, we would strongly encourage you to try out the facilities on offer at Ballymun Sports & Fitness Centre!
